Artist Nichole McDaniel explains the process she uses to create unique works of art

Nichole McDaniel grew up in the Midwest. She found her way out to California in pursuit of being an artist. Nichole graduated Cum Laude and first in her department with a Bachelors of Art degree from from Western Illinois University.

Her current works of seascapes, landscapes and abstracts are inspired by the awe inspiring allure of the beaches and landscapes around her. Nichole's pop art paintings tend to be icons from the past. She loves to put her style and twist on these timeless figures.

Nichole’s fascination of silhouettes began when she was very young in Indiana. She enjoyed watching the sunset and seeing the simple beauty outlined by the sun. Currently she continues to capture the brilliance and grace nature’s ever changing silhouette.

For almost a decade now Nichole’s process has continued to evolve. Many times taking  60 hours or more just to a hand crafted silhouette with an X-acto knife. The use of the silhouette in many of her works allows her to develop and control the composition, while giving her the freedom to explore with color, pattern, texture, and overall feel of a piece.

Her artwork tends to be full of bright vivid colors. Nichole’s handcrafted mixed media pieces consist of aerosol, acrylic, and resin on custom built canvas or wood panels.

The simplicity of silhouettes takes art and design back to its true form.

Nichole has found success as a professional artist. Her artwork is currently showcased in several galleries in California.
